Born and raised in Germany by designer parents, Daniel grew up in an environment that was fueled by creativity. He took his love of design to the esteemed Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. In 2007, Daniel moved to New York City to join Loyalkaspar where he has helmed numerous brand identities, campaigns and strategy initiatives for diverse brands like ABC, Disney, Paramount+, NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock, Comedy Central, SYFY, U2 & Amnesty International. His work has been on display at the MoMA and was honored by Clio, Communication Arts, D&AD and Promax among others.
Branding a Streamer: Questions to Ask When Designing for a Streaming Service
Only in the past year has the landscape of streaming expanded beyond a few major players into a colorful range of brands and products. Now established as a full-fledged category, what have emerged as patterns in branding for streaming, and why? What factors should be kept in mind when branding a company in this space, and in what ways do they compare to branding traditional entertainment brands?
Daniel Dörnemann of loyalkaspar recently led the brand identity work for NBCU’s Peacock and ViacomCBS’ Paramount+, and in this presentation he will use examples from those projects as well others in the category to walk through his key lessons learned when branding a streaming service. He will share specific insights and observations from his immersion in the streaming space, with recommendations for what every streamer should be considering most in its design process.
