Rob O'Neill
VFX and Editing Specialist
Autodesk Australia
With over 30 year's experience in the industry using flatbeds, linear suites, Avid and the last 17 using Autodesk Flame and Smoke systems, Rob has seen the evolution of Editing and Finishing develop into a fine art. Film-making is a highly collaborative and multi-skilled process. He was always attracted to new processes that simplified that process without compromise; "Hence why I was sold on Flame way back then. Together with Smoke it is the solution that allows me to control that complex process as much as possible right up to the finish line. This is why I think our products remain the weapon of choice with shrinking budgets and deadlines."

No footage, budget or time? No worries.
For Promax 2011 Autodesk® is excited to have the support of the teams from Seven Design and Seven’s Red Engine. Autodesk will be showcasing how Channel Seven use Autodesk tools and workflows to deliver an ever increasing number of promos and idents. Always with the mandate of better, faster!
To support us in that effort we have enlisted the services of long-time customer and Autodesk 3ds Max® user, Grant Gill of Granet Digital Images. Grant has freelanced to Seven Design for many projects. We are excited to have Grant show great new workflows between Autodesk 3ds Max and Adobe After Effects for the first time locally. This new functionality will allow artists to more easily leverage the power of 3D to take their creative ideas to the next level.
Rob O’Neill from Autodesk will also give you an insight into how the team at Channel 7 use Autodesk Smoke for Mac® to deliver promos work faster, every day. With Smoke for Mac’s powerful all-in-on editorial finishing, powerful 3D visual effects and support for industry standard formats, see how the speed and flexibility of Smoke for Mac allows Channel 7 to deliver creative solutions. Better. Faster.
